Graduate and experienced Structural Engineers
Castree are an established firm of consulting structural engineers working across a range of sectors for projects throughout the UK and Worldwide.
We are a small, growing practice, specialising in exciting niche areas within Structural Engineering including amusement attractions, public realm works or art and modern methods of construction.
We work at the cutting edge of each of our sectors of work, delivering zip lines, bounce nets, sculptures, large multi-storey modular buildings, light gauge steelwork structures as well as more traditional structural engineering.
The successful candidate will be involved in projects from all sectors in all sizes, from conception to construction.

The Role
We are looking for Structural Engineers to join our team in Sheffield and work on the great variety of projects Castree undertake. The team at Castree is friendly and supportive and provides great opportunities for professional and technical development and progression towards Chartership of the Institute of Structural Engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering, minimum grade 2:1.
- A recent graduate or with up to seven years’ relevant post graduate experience.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Access to a car insured for business use.
Job Responsibilities
- Structural design to British Standards and Eurocodes in steel, masonry, timber and reinforced concrete.
- Report writing, project management, client liaison, attendance at design team meetings and site inspections, including video conferences (Zoom, MS Teams, etc).
- Use of design software: Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, S-Frame and Staad-Pro.
- Preparation of drawings using AutoCAD 2D draughting, Bluebeam PDF editor and hand drawn sketches.
- Use of 3D modelling software: Sketchup, Revit and Tekla Bimsight.
- Microsoft word and excel.
- Graduate membership of the IStructE and a desire to progress to chartered membership.

Location
- With active projects across the UK and Worldwide, Castree has always been committed to flexible and remote working from either the office or home.
- Castree currently have offices in Chester, Sheffield, Nottingham and North Wales. The successful candidate will be placed in the Sheffield office with a view that commuting and working from the Chester office may be required a number of times a month depending on project requirements.
- Full I.T hardware and software are provided to facilitate flexible working with all expenses and mileage covered for working away from the Sheffield office.
